It is graduation weekend for the Adams County Ohio Valley Schools. All graduation ceremonies will be live-streamed on the district YouTube channel https://www.youtube.com/@acovsd/live Starting today, NAHS at 4 pm, WUHS at 7 pm, and PHS on Sunday at 2 pm.
We are excited to invite your student to our summer programming this year, Discovery Camp. Students must have been enrolled in Kindergarten through sixth grade during the 2022-2023 school year. Discovery Camp will be held for six full days this year on June 6th-8th and June 13th-15th from 9:00-3:00 at West Union Elementary School with students able to attend one camp or both. Discovery Camp is no cost. Breakfast and Lunch will be provided daily and there is no cost for meals. In subsequent years, the location of the camp will rotate to other elementary buildings in the district. We hope to be able to offer shuttle bussing to West Union Elementary for North Adams and Peebles. We invite the public to attend the question/answer session to get to know the backgrounds and ideas that the candidates might have for our school district. Bradly Colston Martin was recognized at the 40th Exceptional Achievement Award Recognition Ceremony on April 27, 2023 as the Outstanding Student Award Recipient for Adams County.
Ethan Thompson of WUHS was awarded the SATH Foundation Scholarship Award at the 40th Exceptional Achievement Award Recognition Ceremony on April 27, 2023. Mr. Michael Roades presented the scholarship to Ethan.

Adams County Ohio Valley Schools was well represented at the 40th Exceptional Achievement Award Recognition Ceremony. Bradly Colston Martin was this year's Outstanding Student Award Recipient. North Adams and Peebles Elementaries both were recognized for earning the Gold Award for PBIS. Mr. Seas was honored for his service to the region. Outstanding Educators were recognized and included Margo Bransome, Jackie Hitt, Kara Shearer, Kaetlin Shreffler, and Courtney Stevenson.

On Friday afternoon, April 14th, the Ohio Highway Patrol, in conjunction with the Adams County Ohio Valley Schools Resource Officer Team, will hold a seatbelt awareness event during the dismal of 7-12 students on the West Union Campus.
The Adams County Ohio Valley School District Board of Education revised the school calendar to allow for additional staff professional development at the end of this school year.

Statement concerning Social Media Threat.
On Wednesday evening February 22, 2023, a former student at WUHS shared a meme on social media with other students causing concern. District SRO staff were immediately notified along with the Adams County Sheriff’s Office, who were already working the case. The student was taken into custody and with the help of the ACSO, CPS, and Shawnee Mental Health, all determined that there was no threat to the school or anyone else. Due to reposting by those who received the original post, along with adding additional text, there have been further concerns about the safety of multiple schools in the district. District SRO staff and the ACSO continue to monitor the situation and there is no current threat to students, staff, or buildings.
Parents and caregivers are invited to attend Parent Cafe at the Cherry Fork Gym and Fire Station on February 23rd and March 2nd for an opportunity to listen, share, and learn with other parents. Dinner and childcare are included.
The Adams County Ohio Valley Schools will conduct Kindergarten Registration for the upcoming school year. If you have a child that is five years old or will be five years old by August 1, 2023, please mark your calendar and plan to attend kindergarten registration at the elementary school your child will be attending. All three elementary schools (North Adams Elementary, Peebles Elementary, and West Union Elementary) will conduct kindergarten registration on the following dates:
Thursday, March 2, 4:00 – 7:00 PM and Thursday, March 9, 12:00 – 3:00 PM
A parent or guardian will need to bring the following documents to kindergarten registration:
Proof of Residency - documentation of parent/guardian’s address (water bill, telephone bill, etc.) A driver’s license is not acceptable proof of residency.
Child’s Birth Certificate
Immunization Record
Custody Papers (if applicable)
It is important to register in March and plan for the upcoming school year. Please plan to attend kindergarten registration on Thursday, March 2, 4:00 – 7:00 PM and Thursday, March 9, 12:00 – 3:00 PM
All students who register will receive a free t-shirt. We are excited to meet the class of 2036!
