Adams County Proud!!   This group of young women and men have received their State FFA Degree this week! The Virtual Ohio State FFA Convention recognized each one of them for their effort and hard work. Less than 2 percent of Ohio FFA members will earn their State FFA degree.  17 members earning this award out of a small chapter of 55 members is remarkable!   Ohio Valley CTC is proud of our FFA members and look forward to more big accomplishments from these individuals in the future!

Although the academic year is coming to an end, students from our OVCTC Early Childhood Education program are still busy helping students at West Union Elementary. Juniors Hailey Cole and Tori Whitley are shown working with students one on one and in small groups on foundational skills mastered in kindergarten. These opportunities are beneficial for both kindergarten students and our Early Childhood Education students.

Last week, the OVCTC Ag Business seniors were very busy brushing up on their animal science skills.  The students in the junior class selected the bulls to be used to breed the 5 cows and the 2 heifers on the school farm.  Seniors synchronized their female bovines using CIDRs and then conducted a timed AI session today with former Ag Business graduate, David Semple.  Nearly all of the students were able to learn this for the first time. Special thanks to both David and another former Ag Business alumni and parent, Jeremy Simpson, for their donations of time and supplies to help our students get a real life experience!  It’s great to have wonderful people in our community who provide us with kind of support.  Crossing our fingers for some baby calves in January of 2022!

The Ohio Valley CTC Culinary arts program gave their time for community service to Saint Vincent De Paul. The students helped carry and arrange food for the church and organized the pick up location. Saint Vincent De Paul has been very generous to our students in the past. Our students wanted to give back to them.

OVCTC Juniors in our Early Childhood Education program had a busy day Thursday as they spent the day at West Union Elementary. After hiding Easter eggs outside they delivered special letters from the Easter bunny that shared a message about teamwork and having fun. ECE students then led the fun outside making sure all students had fun and were safe. They ended the day delivering pizza and cupcakes to students in grade K-2. Thanks so much to the staff at WUES who provide such wonderful opportunities for our students to participate in.
