The Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) visited our school today, bringing along a very special guest—Smokey the Bear! ODNR Director Mary Mertz and Smokey taught our students about protecting forests and preventing wildfires.
A huge thank you to ODNR, Smokey, State Representative Justin Pizzulli, Sheriff Kenny Dick, Paul Worley with the Commissioner’s Office, Mrs. Wallace, our board members, and district office staff for joining us.
ODNR also presented the Ohio Valley School District with a check from its Trees to Textbooks Program as part of the visit.
We had so much fun and truly appreciate all the support for our school!
We love seeing our Little Indians being kind friends! This a captured moment of one young man walking his hurt friend to the nurse's station!
This young man identified all 6 red words on our weekly exit slip today! Way to go! 🎉
Mrs. Applegate's classes completed a unit on the history of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. They also created their own balloons to parade through the hallway and office.
Kindergarten has been enjoying their Thanksgiving feasts today!

We're starting off this Monday with a focus on KINDNESS. Mrs. Applegate's 3rd grade class designed kindness creatures and wrote about what makes their creature kind! ☺️
While out and about today, don't forget that our Thanksgiving Canned Food Drive starts THIS week! The hallway that brings in the most cans gets to turn Mrs. Brewer into an Ice Cream Sundae! 🍨🍨
