Students were engaged in various hands on science activities: Modeling the types of chemical bonding; building a remote controlled car and navigating through an obstacle course; putting together and labeling a skeleton; and demonstrating potential and kinetic energy with popsicles
Physics students were given the challenge of balancing 11 nails on the head of one nail relating problem solving, critical thinking and the concept of “center of gravity.”
Juniors in our Early Childhood Education program have recently began their placements in classrooms at Peebles, North Adams and West Union Elementary. They are working with students ranging from ages Preschool-5th grade. While in these classrooms they have the opportunity to connect their course curriculum to real life experiences and learn strategies and methods from experienced teachers in the field of education. We want to thank the wonderful teachers and school administrators who are providing our students this wonderful opportunity.
Construction Tech house is looking good, nearly completely under roof!
Nearly 70 agricultural students from the CTC Ag Mechanics and Ag Business programs toured the Farm Science Review and learned about the latest and greatest in American agriculture. Thank you to the Adams County Farm Bureau for sponsoring our students!
Some of our students had the opportunity to learn from Underground Detectives while they were inspecting the dig site for a future project.
The Culinary Arts department did a great job preparing lunch in the Career Cafe for staff and students.

Prof Livdall Cookeville, Tennessee. OVCTC had a good performance in the general livestock contest! Team of David Raines, Grant McClanahan, Isabella Crum, and MaRhea Unger placed 4th overall in the 4H/FFA division. Beau Hesler placed 2nd overall in sheep and goat, David Raines placed 1st overall in beef. Hannah Hauke also had her first performance in a national level contest and scored an 803. Beau and David were 6th and 10th high individuals overall respectively in the contest. Great job and way to go Ohio Valley!
The Culinary Arts department helped prepare potatoes for the Seaman Lions Club for the Seaman fall Festival as a community service project.

Week 3 in the books the the Construction Tech house
Productive School day in AG mech and Industrial Power Our Jrs were hot at it learning to use the oxy/acetylene torch safely. While our seniors used their fabrication skills on a new work station.
Juniors in the Early Childhood Education program listened to the story “The Kissing Hand” by Audrey Penn. This story addresses separation anxiety during the first few days of school. Juniors then created a follow up craft or activity they could do with younger students after reading the story. These type of activities help prepare our Early Childhood Education students for their future in early childhood education working with young students.
