In honor of Veterans Day our students delivered an inspiring, student-led program honoring the incredible sacrifices made by the men and women of our military. The event featured heartfelt student song performances and touching recognitions, all created and led by our talented students. We’re immensely grateful to the SkillsUSA, FCCLA and FFA leaders and dedicated staff who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make this event unforgettable. A special thank you to Mr. Putum for sharing his powerful story of military service and reminding us all of the freedoms we enjoy each day.

Our Auto Tech students had an incredible experience touring the Kenworth Truck Plant today! They received an in-depth look at the truck-building process and learned how these impressive Kenworth trucks come together. Such a valuable, hands-on learning opportunity!

THANK YOU to everyone who donated and gave to support the OVCTC FFA Hurricane farmer relief for Tennessee and North Carolina residents! We can not thank you enough! Special thanks to the Tractor Supply Company in West Union, and the many generous donors of the Bethlehem Church of Christ Church! Our committee chair, Jerzy Evans, and her colleagues on the committee: Lita Liston- McGraw and Carsen Kiley were able to organize this event and shop with the donated funds as requested to get what the farmers in that area needed most. Tractor supply sold us these items AT COST to assist with this endeavor, and we cannot thank them enough. Many local people, businesses, and supporters in general helped make this happen! Thank you to our truckers: Steve (Biff) Evans and Danny Jodrey for getting our items on site this past Saturday. The students worked hard to sort and organize each item that came in, and we were thankful to have 2 very full stock trailers full of needed supplies make it there safely!

Thank you Mr. Butcher for helping the Construction Tech students learn how to use the cnc machine to cut signs for the Ag. Business students who will be exhibiting market lambs at the North American International Livestock Exposition.

Juniors and Seniors in the Early Childhood Education program joined the Halloween fun in our local elementary classrooms across the county. ECE students remained in placement all day to observe the behavior changes occurring in students on party day and learn strategies from elementary teachers of how to be sure learning continues for students even on party days. It was a fun day for all and students enjoyed seeing our ECE students out of uniform and dressing up for Halloween.

Huge thanks to Brian Bailey for an amazing presentation on food and entertainment in the cruise ship industry! Our students were captivated by his insights and experiences. What an incredible opportunity to learn about the exciting world of hospitality on the high seas!

The big day is here! Grant McClanahan, David Raines, MaRhea Unger, and Isabella Crum have all been working hard and putting in countless hours for this very moment! This is the day they represent Ohio in the National FFA Livestock Judging Contest! The late nights, memorizing terminology, time, and overall dedication these four individuals have given to make themselves better is bar none. To date, after hundreds of oral reasons and classes marking cards and preparing, they are prepared to do their best! Parents, school staff, industry partners, stockman, alumni, and Ohio friends: here is a big THANK YOU for your support and investing in this group! The well-wishes, guidance, and compliments have been absorbed by each of them and we know they will do the best that they can. After the contest today, results will be given on Friday, but for now….. GO BUCKS and Ohio Valley FFA!

Joey Cluxton from Ag Mechanics won a Milwaukee impact/drill set at the Massey Ferguson booth in a skill set race. Kaden Schweitzer from Ag Business won a 1/2” socket set at the Casen IH booth in a similar skill race. Congrats boys on having the best times and performance of the day!

Ag Business students learned to grind feed and mixed their first ration. They will be learning the Pearson Square and applying it to future feed mixes for their livestock! Hay is baled for the season and looking forward to National FFA Convention this week!

Thank you Mr. Wolfe for meeting with our construction tech students today and letting them propose a bid for a concrete project in the district.
