Early Childhood Education Junior, Jade Shook, had a lot of fun in her fourth grade placement today. Students in Mrs. Beech's 4th grade class have been learning about fossils and made their own replicas using shells and dinosaurs. Jade was able to assist with the messy but fun activity. Our ECE students have the opportunity to see the lessons taught by teachers come to life and learn how making learning fun is very important in the classroom.
Thank you to Mr. Hoop and our seniors in the Construction Technology Program for completing their “Community Day” service project by working with Venture Productions. The OVCTC students constructed drop boxes which will be installed in some of the villages in Adams County. The idea is that individuals or organizations can donate / stock non-perishable food items in these boxes and those in need may take what they need. A special thanks to Liz Lafferty of the Adams Co. Board of Developmental Disabilities & Venture Productions, Inc. for working with us on this community service project!
Thank you to C103 radio for inviting the OVCTC Ag Business program and the Early Childhood Education program to share career tech education highlights with the community today!

OVCTC STUDENT SPOTLIGHT
Hailey Cole is a Jr in our Early Childhood Education Program and she came to us from Peebles High School. She is the granddaughter of Patti and Greg Wiggins! She is a cheerleader for Peebles football and when she isn’t cheering on the team she might be caught eating Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers and watching “The Office,” “Riverdale” or the movie “Five Feet Apart.” Her role model is her teacher for Language Arts 3, Ms. Sowards. “She is the sweetest person you’ll ever meet. She is super fun to be around and makes Language Arts so fun. She encourages me to keep pushing no matter what. She is one of the reasons I want to be a teacher. I love the way she teaches and I might take some of her ideas in the future.”
When asked why she chose to go to the CTC Hailey responded with, “When I saw the education program, I instantly knew I wanted to go. I’ve always wanted to be a teacher and I get to experience what it is like in this program. Another reason was for a new change/start. I feel like I’ve struggled with my grades at the high school.” Her favorite teachers is her program teacher Mrs. Hoop and Ms. Sowards her English teacher! Getting to go to the elementary school everyday and seeing the kids is a highlight of her program. After graduating she would like to go to college to become a teacher!
“Hailey Cole has really shown some great improvements in our Early Childhood Education program. She participates in our daily discussions, is very creative and enjoys completing craft projects with the students she works with. She has recently been one of our leaders in the classroom responsible for decorating our related classroom and does a wonderful job in creating a fun and inviting environment for both students and peers she works with.” - Mrs. Hoop, Early Childhood Education Instructor
Another fun event in celebration of National FFA Week is the OVCTC FFA “Tractor Parade”. The students enjoy taking the parade down to the elementary school so that our young students can see the equipment on the move!

Congratulations to Ms. Nickell on this awesome accomplishment!
This was a busy day to kick off National FFA Week! Thanks to C103 for assisting us with a live show to promote our school and the OVCTC FFA!
